Great news keeps coming lately, and I can't wait to share it with everyone!

Not long ago, Mini Pi Plus went viral at the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon. It gained widespread online attention with its cute look and powerful performance.

In fact, Mini Pi Plus is more than just an adorable appearance — it also delivers remarkable technical strength. And another exciting achievement is coming right up!

On April 23, the top 8 list of the group stage in the Humanoid Small Size League of Robot Football was officially announced for the 2026 China Robot Competition & RoboCup China Open.

An outstanding achievement has been made: all teams advancing to the top eight adopt the High Torque Robotics Pi+ humanoid robot platform.

Let me give you a brief introduction:

RoboCup is one of the most influential events in the global robotics industry, known as "the World Cup of Robotics". It aims to promote robots to complete complex tasks under fully autonomous conditions.

RoboCup China Open is the longest-running, largest-scale, and most internationally recognized top-tier robotics competition in China, boasting extremely high professional prestige and value.

In this robot football event, robots are required to realize fully autonomous perception, independent decision-making, and precise motion control. It sets extremely high standards for system stability, joint performance and algorithm capability, serving as a rigorous comprehensive test of robotic overall strength.

A total of 20 top teams competed in this year's Small Size League. All teams that advanced to the top 8 stood out with the support of the High Torque Robotics Pi+ humanoid robot platform, speaking volumes about its outstanding performance.

The results (number of goals) are as follows:

Zhejiang University: 7

Huazhong University of Science and Technology: 7

Tsinghua University: 5

Tianjin University of Technology: 4

United University Normal College: 3

Beijing Information Science and Technology University: 2

Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology: 2

Beijing Police College: 2

Sweeping all top eight spots — this is the technical strength of High Torque Robotics!

Pi+ is a new-generation small-sized humanoid robot fully independently developed by High Torque Robotics. It is also the world's first high-performance humanoid robot under 15 kg. Adopting High Torque's pioneering modular design and open SDK, it delivers both high performance and ease of use.

The stable performance of Pi+ throughout the competition is attributed to the high-performance joint modules independently developed by High Torque Robotics. These modules feature high torque, high rigidity, and stable force control, ensuring the robot maintains precise movements and stable posture in football perception and motion scenarios.

Beyond powerful hardware, we have also built a dedicated open-source tutorial platform for RoboCup tailored for Pi+ (https://zixiangme.github.io/mini-pi-soccer-docs/). It fully integrates core modules including motion control, behavior tree decision-making, visual perception, and communication strategies, perfectly meeting the fully autonomous operation requirements of the competition. This enables teams to debug more efficiently and deploy more conveniently.

The finals of the 2026 China Robot Competition & RoboCup China Open are about to kick off at the Capital International Convention Center in Shunyi, Beijing. Team registration is scheduled for May 1st, and the offline competition will be held from May 2nd to 4th. During the event, High Torque Robotics will continue to provide full technical support, helping all teams achieve excellent results on the field. Stay tuned!
